Some weeks ago, ONE`s redaction received a letter from a group of Tokio Hotel`s fans.It contains a long list of questions for the band and a simple "Would it be possible that one of your reporter ask these questions that we are a lot to wonder ourselves?" The idea seemed good. So we decided to take part of the game and ask these questions to Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg. The boys enjoyed the idea to please their fans' curiosity. And, today, here are their answers...
Do you know thar your french fans rather like to hear you in German than in English? Bill: I didn't knew, but i'm happy to hear about that. For me, it's almost a compliment. Not that I don't assume our englisg songs, but, really, I'd rather like singing in German. I feel more confident and I don't have to focus myself to have a correct accent! [laughs] The songs of our two firsts albums were written to sound german so I'm more into singing them as they were originally. As a conclusion, I share the opinion with the french fans...
Tom, are you thinking to cut your dreadlocks one day? Tom: For the moment, that's not part of my plans. I have dreadlocks since i'm eleven and I'd feel naked without them. So, I think i'm going to keep them a few more years, even if I know that some people would rather like me to have another haircut...
Bill and Tom, do you think you'll still be sharing an appartement together in ten years? Tom: As far as i'm concerned, I wouldn't mind.We always had good terms with Bill, and I don't know why it would have to change. That said, i hope that, in some times, we will both have girlfriends and, at this moment, cohabitation will be a little difficult. Or at least I'll have to tell my girlfriend that if she wants to stay with me, she will have to stand Bill's waking face face each mornings, and that's not that easy to do!!! [laughs] Bill: You bastard! We'll see that tonight... [laughs]
Do you sometimes go to the internet to see blogs devoted to you? Gustav: We surf on the web regulary to read what people say about us, cause it's a good way to see what our fans think about our concerts, new songs or our music videos. However, we always take that from behind, cause we know that the fans making blogs about us are only one side of the opinion. It' pretty rare to see negative comments on fans' blog, just because they are fans' blog. But we also know that lots of teenager, like in Germany, don't like us. And, these, don't make blogs to tell how much they hate us. Tom: As far as i'm concerned, I've already seen anti Tokio Hotel blogs. I like reading them, they make me laugh. Generally, the ones writting them say that we are a boys band and that Bill is homosexual. That's not very cleaver and, personally I don't care about those critics. I know who we are, where we are from and where we want to go. Anything else doesn't matter.
There are rumors telling that it happens that you get online on MSN to chat with your fans. It is true? Bill: No, it's false. It already happened to take part of chat organized by our record company or our official website, but the fans telling that they have or MSN address and that they're chatting with us are lying. Also, I know that some people like creating new nicknames on MSN and pretend to be us among the fans. That's why I want to be very clear about that and that we have never been on MSN. I hope that this time fans won't fall in the trap.
When fans write letter to you, do they ahve a chance, even little, to get an answer from you? Tom: Frankly, it's kind of hard to answer all the letter we receive. If we wanted to do it, we would have to write 24/7 during at least 3 weeks! That's why, I'd rather be honest, and tell the fans to don't have too much hope when they send letters. We could have hired somebody to answer for us and send a pre-signed card, but we don't like that way of answer, automatic and inpersonal. When we sign an autograph, we're really doing it. No one signs for us. I also want to apologize to anyone who haven't received an answer, but it's just impossible for us to answer all the mail we receive. Georg: But, that doesn't mean we aren't touched by all these letters. If one day we don't receive any letters, we would be really disappointed. Bill: And also, we have to say that we sometimes answer some letters. Not as much as we want, bu as soon as we have some free time, especially when we're on tour, we try to take some time to answer the letters that touch us much. But, once more, Tom is right, it's better for the fans to don't have too much hope cause it's impossible for us to answer all the mail.
There are lots of rumors about you. Does any of them already hurt you? Bill: The only thing that can hurt us, would be the critics from our family. Everything else, all the medias and everything being said on the internet, we don't care. If we would have to take all the bullshit about us, we would become crazy.
Many times, in Germany, you had fans go on stage with you during concerts. However, it never happened in France. Why? Tom: The fans don't have to worry, there's nothing about the country. Usually, it depends of the way the venue are built and of our mind state during the concert. There are some times, for a reason i don't know, Bill comes to see me between two songs and tells me he's going to get someone on the stage. It's never planned, it happens like that, during the action. However, if I remember well, the last times we played in France, the venue were done the way it was really hard for the public to go on stage. It's probably for that reason that we never had someone with us. Bill: And also a little because I was intimidated. Singing in front of a brand new public, it's always impressive. I was especially focused on the songs and I have to admit that I don't really thought of getting someone on stage. That said, if I wanted to do it, it would have been difficult because of the language, I would have lots of difficulties to talk to this fan in french. Anyway, I may take the occasion next time, like Tom said, nothing is planned before.
Some fans of the first wave wonder if you have planned to some songs of Devilish during your concerts? Bill: We are already singing Leb' die Sekunde, which is from Devilish years. But I think it will be the only one. Gustav: The others songs of Devilish really sucked. It would be a shame to play them on stage! Or, they would have to be arranged in an other way, but that'd be like writting a complete new song, too many things to change otherwise... [laughs]
After having singing songs in german, english and japanese, have you planned to ever sing in french? Bill: Even if nothing's planned at the moment, it's not something we are excluing. The french public is one of our favorite and it would be a way to thank them. That said, if we ever decide to do such a project, I can tell you now that it'd be only one song. I can't really see myself singing a whole record in french. I don't have anything against this language, but I really think it's difficult to pronounce and I'd probably need months of training to get a perfect accent. Georg: We may think that french is hard to pronounce, but I can also tell that german isn't that easy too. However, you can notice that all the french fans sing our songs in german... Bill: That's true. Georg, you'd be a good lawyer!
