2007 seems to be under a good star for all rockfans. The most famous bands of the international rockscene came back to their record-studios already some months ago for working on their new albums. Cds of Good Charlotte, Linking Park, Panic At the Disco!, Simple Plan, Bullet For My Valentine or also Green Day will flood the musicshops in the next months and bring new glamour into the rockscene.
But first of all the band will produce headlines, that the fans already expect longingly.
After the mega-success of “Schrei” Tokio Hotel comes with “Zimmer 483”, a remarkable second album, that is in no way inferior to the first one. Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg didn`t rest on their laurels and made it, found new musical horizons, that will throw some fans out off balance. The result is an album with no concessions, a rough diamond in best tradition of rock. The album is a daredevil project, a constant tightrope walk, at which you can be carried away by a maelstrom.
“Zimmer 483”, based on Bill`s magical voice, will Tokio Hotel deserve credit in Germany for sure, but maybe also internationally.
For that reason we have made the decision to dedicate a big part of this special rock-edition to Tokio Hotel.

*INTERVIEW* BILL
Bill is a versatile human being. By nature more shy and reserved, he gives himself up to his audience with skin and hair and moves off a big show at every concert.
What is hidden behind this charismatic singer of Tokio Hotel? We tried to find out that in this very personal interview.
In which extend have you contributed to the new album?
If we work on a new album, normally I care about the lyrics. I have the need to write constantly, what I experience and to catch my feelings and thoughts in words.
During the last two years since the appearance of our first album, I put periodically ideas for new songs down on a memo pad. I used them as basis and little by little the songs of “Zimmer 483” developed.
What has made you compose your first song?
This sounds maybe weird, but I would say, the boredom!
Some time, when I was just alone, I did not know so surely what I should do and there I decided to write about what comes in my mind and to compose songs from that.
Thus the first version from “Leb`die Sekunde” has developed, that - after some changes -became finally part of the album “Schrei”. Then I wrote more lyrics, because I have nearly always a memo pad with me, to put down my thoughts in writing, that comes to my mind.
Do you feel anytimes boredom, since you have so much success with Tokio Hotel?
I have to admit, that happens nearly not anymore! Since two years we are so in demand and sometimes it even happens, that I miss sorrowful the time, when I felt bored alone in my room. Silent moments become more and more rare, but I won`t complain of that. I always wanted to sing and live from music and for nothing in the world I would like to change with somebody.
In which connection has your life changed the most?
In every connection! Two years ago I could go to every place without problems without being recognized immediately. Today this is nearly impossible. It becomes more and more complicated, so that I can nearly not go on street anymore. Add to this I could go to school some time ago, also that is not possible anymore. But honestly said, school is not the issue I`m missing the most….(laughs). At any rate, besides some exceptions in my private live, it doesn`t bother me at all being famous. I was always very ambitious and I`m very proud of the career of Tokio Hotel. Today I have the life, I`ve always dreamed of and I won`t complain of that, for sure.
How is it possible for you, from your position as star today, to describe painful emotions?
You should not forget, that we have just since 1,5 years a “starlife”. I know boredom, doubts and disappointment very well, so that I can talk about it. I had a totally normal childhood and this is also today one of my most important sources of inspiration. But also our life today brings us new ideas daily. Our journeys, the emotions, we experience at our concerts, all people, we meet , are sources of inspiration, what I use for composing new songs.
Can you tell us a bid more about “Übers Ende der Welt”? Which is the message of the song?
“Übers Ende der Welt” is for all those people, who have the impression, being on the wrong way and don`t know, in which direction they should go on. The song expresses hope and shall encourage to develop and ask questions to yourself. It`s never too late to make it different, never too late, to realize your dreams. It`s important for us, to send a message full of hopes to our fans. We know, that it is important to overcome impediments and we are convinced, that the impossible can become with the right attitude possible.
A lot of Tokio Hotel fans have discussions on websites, that are exclusively dedicated to the band. Do you look anytimes at such websites for knowing, what fans are thinking about you?
When we release a new album, the opinion of our fans is very important for us. So it happens, that we look at some pages in the web to get to know, about what fans are talking and what they think about our music. But it happens rarely, that we take part in discussion-forums or chat-rooms.
There are crazy rumours about you in the web. Which one has surprised you the most?
Recently someone has maintained on a website, that I would be a girl! That is really totally exaggerated! When I was younger, sometimes it happened, that someone thought, I was a girl, but you have to be blind, thinking that nowadays. I admit, that I`m not the masculine guy, but to go so far and maintain, I would be a girl is a step over the borderline.
Many girls are asking questions about your private life. Are you still solo?
Yes, I`m afraid so. And that is the case since almost two years. I have nothing against falling in love, but a relationship is hardly compatible with my life at the moment. And so I prefer being alone at the moment, because I don`t like short adventures. But I am sure, that will change soon and that I will get to know someone unexpectedly.
Do you have some kind of idea, how the woman of your dreams should be? Are there things, that are especially important for you?
When I see a woman for the first time, I pay strongly attention to her outer appearance. She should be sexy and it is important, that her clothes fit to her. I pay also much attention to her hands, I really don`t know, why. But for me hands say much about the personality of someone. I like women with beautiful hands and well-groomed finger nails.That can seem idiotically, but it is that way. Besides my intended girl-friend should be a very positiv person. I am more pessimistic by nature, thus my partner should pull me out of that and prove me daily, how beautiful life can be.
Are you jealous, when you have a girl-friend?
Yes, very much. I took always hold of someone, when I like somebody. But the reason is maybe, that I`m frightened to lose somebody.
How do you react, when somebody criticize Tokio Hotel? Do you accept criticism or don`t criticism interest you at all?
Depends, from where und especially from whom the criticism come. I`ve already said, that we set great store by the opinion of our fans. When some fans say, they don`t like one song, then I take that seriously and look what`s maybe wrong with this song. I`m also open for criticism of our friends and family, because they don`t have a reason to fool us and they are totally honest.
But sometimes it happens, that we are just critized because of pure jealousy. That are often people, who are nerved by our success and want to harass us at that way.
How do they act?
They reprouch us being no real rockband, but being a boy band. But that leaves us cold, because we know, that this is totally rubbish. We know each other more than six years and we play music since our childhood. If you call that a boyband, then we have different views about such bands. If you have success, you should expect criticism. But mostly I am deaf to that, because I know, what I am worth.
In spite of an obvious shyness, it seems, that nothing can stop you, when you are on stage. Do you have limits, you won`t go beyond?
Yes, of course. We have a strong influence to our fans with our concerts and our lyrics and so we cannot go away with crossing some borderlines. But anyway I have never maintained, that we are models for others and I won`t control always all my actions and gestures. I`m a totally normal young person, who tries to give his best and and act responsible, but I`m not at all perfect. I hope, that our fans understand that, when they read something about me in a situation, they don`t like.
You will soon play some concerts in Germany and Europe. Can you say something about the concerts yet?
I just can say, that we will rock! We cannot wait to sing our new songs and to see our fans again. The concerts are the most important for me in that job. Because, when I sing in front of my fans, then I am really myself.
